Have you heard that the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5k is almost here? Don’t worry; you still have time to sign up and crush your running goals. Who Does the Race Support?
The proceeds from the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K benefit Seaside School, Inc. The name makes sense now, huh?
Founded in 1996, the Seaside School, Inc. was one of the first and is now one of the oldest surviving public charter schools in Florida. When the Seaside School originally opened, they had only 36 students, 2 faculty members, and 1 administrator to serve students in sixth through eighth grades.
Today, the school has expanded to fifth through twelfth grades serving over 380 students. For the past 25 years, the determined staff, dedicated parents, and engaged community led the Seaside Schools, comprised of the Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School, to be consistently recognized as leaders at both state and national achievement levels. Seaside Neighborhood School serves 5th through 8th grades and is located in the iconic beach town of Seaside, Florida. Located on the campus of nearby Northwest Florida State College, Seacoast Collegiate High School serves 9th through 12th grades, offering students the ability to graduate high school with an associate college degree.
The school is driven to continue growth and success for its students, led by continual support, exploration, accountability, scholarship, independence, dreams, and effort. By participating in this race, you can aid students in cultivating their diversity and begin understanding how they can make unique contributions to society.
Where and When is the Race?
The 21st running of the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K will be held on February 19, 2023, in Seaside, Florida. The half marathon will start at 6:45 AM, and the 5K race will begin at 7:05AM.
Taste of the Race Pre-Party!
The race weekend starts with the unofficial pre-party called Taste of the Race! You can join us on Friday, February 17, 2023, for one of the most anticipated annual culinary events in South Walton. Located in the iconic Seaside Lyceum, we get the great joy of indulging in cuisine that features a dozen local chefs competing for the top culinary awards, including the coveted Chef’s Choice Award.

How Do I Sign Up?
Signing up for the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K is easy! Whether you want to run with friends, coworkers, or family, you can sign up as a team and receive additional race perks.
For this year’s race, those who register as a team will get the “team experience,” which includes:
- Dedicated post-race tailgate area for teams
- Yard sign featuring team name
- Team Photo Op
- Race-branded cups for teams of 8 or more
- Awards category for teams
- Opportunities for social media feature
All you have to do to register is designate a captain to register by clicking HERE. During the registration process, the captain should select “create or join a team” and follow the prompts to create a team.
Once created, the captain can share the team name with others. When registering, teammates should select “join an existing team” and proceed to choose the team name added by the captain. Then, all you need to do is prepare and show up for race day!
